Redness Treatment

概要

Facial redness is caused by various factors including increased vascular reactivity, rosacea, and telangiectasia (dilated capillaries). Vascular lasers (V-beam PDL 595nm, Excel V 532/1064nm) selectively heat hemoglobin within blood vessels to coagulate and eliminate abnormal vessels. IPL and topical medications (brimonidine, metronidazole) may be combined for comprehensive management.

仕組み・メカニズム

Vascular lasers emit wavelengths preferentially absorbed by oxyhemoglobin, causing selective photothermolysis of targeted blood vessels. The vessel walls coagulate and collapse, and the debris is gradually absorbed by the body. PDL (595nm) is most specific for superficial vessels; Nd:YAG (1064nm) reaches deeper vessels. Topical vasoconstrictors (brimonidine) provide temporary redness relief, while anti-inflammatory medications (metronidazole, azelaic acid) manage the underlying rosacea process.

Reduction of facial redness and flushing, improvement of rosacea symptoms, elimination of visible telangiectasia, decreased frequency and intensity of flushing episodes, and improved overall skin tone.

3-5 sessions at 3-4 week intervals for vascular laser; topical medications ongoing; maintenance sessions every 6-12 months

回復期間

Vascular laser: mild redness and swelling for 1-3 days; purpura (PDL) fading in 7-10 days. IPL: mild redness for a few hours. Avoid hot environments, alcohol, and spicy food for 2-3 days. Sun protection essential.

副作用

Temporary redness, swelling, and purpura (with PDL). Rarely, blistering or pigmentation changes. Rosacea is a chronic condition requiring ongoing management; complete cure is not always achievable. Trigger avoidance is important.
