Overview
Fat dissolving agents are injected at multiple points into the subcutaneous fat layer of the abdomen. Upper abdomen, lower abdomen, and flanks can be selectively treated, with shorter downtime compared to liposuction.
Mechanism
Lipolytic compounds are injected into the abdominal subcutaneous fat layer using a grid-pattern technique for even distribution. The agents destroy fat cell membranes, and the released contents are metabolized and eliminated by the body over several weeks. Selective treatment of specific sub-areas (upper, lower, lateral) allows customized contouring.

Duration
3-6 sessions at 2-4 week intervals; full results visible 2-3 months after final session
Recovery
Swelling and bruising for 5-10 days (abdomen tends to swell more than smaller areas). Tenderness and firmness for 1-2 weeks. Compression garment may help. Normal daily activities possible but avoid intense abdominal exercise for 1 week.
Side Effects
Significant swelling, bruising, pain, tenderness, and temporary nodule formation. Larger treatment area means more pronounced swelling. Rarely, uneven results or prolonged firmness.
