A non-surgical correction procedure that addresses side effects such as over-engraftment, lumps, and unevenness after fat grafting surgery.
Overview
After fat grafting, transplanted fat may over-engraft or form clumps, creating palpable lumps and an uneven surface. Fat dissolving injections are used to selectively reduce over-engrafted fat, break down fat lumps, and smooth out irregularities. Combined with RF or shockwave therapy, adhesions are also addressed for comprehensive correction.
Mechanism
Fat dissolving agents are precisely injected into areas of over-engrafted or clumped fat to selectively destroy excess fat cells. The agents disrupt the fat cell membranes of the transplanted fat, reducing volume in over-corrected areas. Supplementary RF and shockwave treatments help release any associated fibrosis and adhesion, promoting tissue remodeling for a smoother, more natural result.
Effects
Reduction of over-engrafted fat volume, dissolution of fat lumps, improved surface smoothness, correction of asymmetry, release of post-graft adhesions, and restored natural contour.
Duration
3-8 sessions depending on severity; spaced 2-4 weeks apart; gradual improvement over 2-4 months
Recovery
Swelling and tenderness for 3-7 days per session. Bruising possible. The treated area may feel firmer initially before softening. Improvement is progressive with each session.
Side Effects
Swelling, bruising, pain, and temporary firmness. Risk of over-correction if too much fat is dissolved at once (gradual approach preferred). Rarely, skin surface irregularity if injection depth is inconsistent.
Price Range
150,000-400,000 KRW per session
Target Audience
Those experiencing over-engraftment, lumps, unevenness, or asymmetry after fat grafting, and those seeking non-surgical correction of fat graft complications.
