HA fillers attract hundreds of times their weight in water, providing hydration to surrounding tissues. Some fillers (Sculptra, Ellansé) stimulate collagen production for long-term volume effects.
Effects
HA fillers show immediate volume improvement upon injection, lasting 6–18 months. Duration varies by product and treatment area—lips tend to be shorter (6–9 months) while cheeks and chin last longer (12–18 months).

HA fillers can be dissolved with hyaluronidase, but non-HA fillers are difficult to reverse.
