Onda

Overview

Onda is a microwave (2.45GHz)-based medical device developed by DEKA (Italy). Using Coolwaves™ technology, it selectively delivers energy to subcutaneous fat cells to destroy cell membranes (apoptosis) while simultaneously stimulating dermal collagen for skin tightening. With three handpieces for different depths and purposes, it can treat both facial and body areas.

Mechanism

Coolwaves™ microwave energy at 2.45GHz is selectively absorbed by water molecules in fat cells, generating heat that disrupts fat cell membranes and induces apoptosis. The controlled thermal effect also stimulates fibroblasts in the dermis, promoting collagen contraction and neocollagenesis for skin tightening. An integrated cooling system protects the epidermis during treatment.

Duration

Recovery

Minimal downtime. Mild redness, warmth, and slight swelling for a few hours to 1-2 days. Normal activities can resume immediately. Mild tenderness in the treated area may persist for a few days.

Side Effects

Temporary redness, warmth, swelling, and tenderness. Rarely, bruising or mild burns. Sensation of warmth during treatment. Not recommended for those with metallic implants in the treatment area.
