PRP

PRPTreatment

A procedure that extracts platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from the patient's own blood and injects it into the skin to promote autologous regeneration.

Overview

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy involves drawing the patient's blood, centrifuging it to extract platelet-concentrated plasma, and injecting it into the skin or scalp. The various growth factors contained in platelets (PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF, EGF) stimulate collagen synthesis, angiogenesis, and tissue regeneration. Also used for hair loss treatment and wound healing.

Mechanism

Blood is drawn and centrifuged to separate and concentrate the platelet-rich fraction (3-5x normal concentration). When injected, activated platelets release growth factors that stimulate fibroblast activity, collagen and elastin synthesis, angiogenesis, and stem cell recruitment, promoting natural tissue repair and rejuvenation.

Effects

Improved skin elasticity and firmness, fine wrinkle reduction, skin texture enhancement, scar improvement, hair growth stimulation, reduced dark circles, and overall natural skin rejuvenation.

Duration

3-6 months per session (3-4 sessions at 4-week intervals; maintenance every 6-12 months)

Recovery

Mild redness, swelling, and bruising for 1-3 days. Needle marks visible for 24-48 hours. Avoid makeup and harsh products for 24 hours. Normal activities can resume immediately.

Side Effects

Mild swelling, redness, and bruising (temporary). Minimal allergy risk since the patient's own blood is used. Rare infection risk from the injection process. Not recommended during active infections or blood disorders.

Price Range

200,000-500,000 KRW per session

Target Audience

Those seeking natural skin rejuvenation using autologous components, those with fine lines, loss of elasticity, acne scars, hair thinning, and those preferring biocompatible treatments.
