Radiesse

RadiesseTreatment

A filler containing calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres that provides both immediate volume and collagen stimulation.

Overview

Radiesse is an FDA-approved CaHA (calcium hydroxylapatite) based filler. CaHA microspheres are distributed within a CMC gel carrier, providing immediate volume upon injection while inducing collagen neogenesis over time. It is used for nasolabial folds, cheeks, chin, and the back of hands, with particular advantages for jawline contouring and hand rejuvenation.

Mechanism

The CMC gel provides immediate volume while CaHA microspheres stimulate fibroblasts to produce the body's own collagen. Over time, CaHA is broken down and absorbed as calcium and phosphorus, while the generated collagen maintains the volume.

Effects

Immediate effect upon injection. Lasts 12–18 months, varying by treatment area.

Duration

15–30 minutes per area.

Recovery

Normal activities can resume immediately. Swelling and bruising for 1–3 days. Avoid saunas and alcohol on the treatment day.

Side Effects

Swelling, bruising, and redness are common. Nodules may rarely occur. Avoid use on thin-skinned areas such as the lips and under-eye area. Cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase unlike HA fillers.

Price Range

300,000–500,000 KRW per 1cc.
