Skin Booster

Skin BoosterTreatment

A collective term for procedures that inject non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid into the dermis to deliver deep hydration and improve skin texture.

Overview

Skin boosters refer to treatments that micro-inject non-crosslinked or lightly crosslinked hyaluronic acid (HA) into the dermis to enhance the skin's own moisture retention. Unlike volume-filling fillers, skin boosters focus on improving skin texture, hydration, elasticity, and radiance. Representative products include Juvederm Volite, Restylane Skinboosters, and Teosyal Redensity.

Mechanism

Non-crosslinked HA is injected into the superficial to mid-dermis where it integrates with the extracellular matrix. HA attracts and binds water molecules (up to 1,000 times its weight), providing sustained hydration. The micro-injury from injection and HA presence also stimulate mild collagen synthesis, contributing to improved skin quality over time.

Effects

Deep skin hydration, improved skin texture and smoothness, enhanced elasticity and firmness, fine line reduction, pore refinement, and a natural healthy glow.

Duration

3-6 months (initial course of 3 sessions at 2-4 week intervals; maintenance every 4-6 months)

Recovery

Mild redness and small bumps at injection sites for 1-2 days. Makeup possible from the next day. Avoid sauna and intense exercise for 2-3 days.

Side Effects

Temporary redness, swelling, bruising, and small papules at injection sites. Most resolve within a few days. Rarely, allergic reactions or nodule formation.

Price Range

150,000-400,000 KRW per session

Target Audience
