Mechanism
Monopolar RF energy penetrates the skin and selectively heats subcutaneous fat to 45 degrees Celsius for a sustained period. At this temperature, fat cells undergo apoptosis while surrounding tissues remain unharmed. Dead fat cells are gradually eliminated through the lymphatic system over 6-12 weeks.
