Overview
Vbeam is a 595nm PDL that is the standard device for vascular lesion treatment. It treats redness, telangiectasia, hemangioma, port-wine stain, and assists in keloid and scar treatment. The latest model, Vbeam Perfecta, features a micro-pulse mode that reduces purpura while maintaining efficacy.
Mechanism
The 595nm wavelength is optimally absorbed by oxyhemoglobin, enabling highly selective photothermolysis of blood vessels. The pulsed dye delivery coagulates targeted vessels while the DCD (Dynamic Cooling Device) protects the epidermis. The Perfecta model's micro-pulse technology divides each macro-pulse into a train of micro-pulses, allowing vessel heating while giving the epidermis time to cool between pulses, significantly reducing the purpura historically associated with PDL treatment.

Recovery

Side Effects
Purpura (bruise-like discoloration, main side effect with standard mode), temporary swelling and redness. Rarely, blistering, hyperpigmentation, or hypopigmentation. Micro-pulse mode significantly reduces purpura risk.
