Overview

Agnes inserts insulated microneedles precisely to the depth of sebaceous glands, then emits RF (radiofrequency) energy only from the needle tip to selectively destroy the glands. The insulated coating on the needle minimizes epidermal damage, enabling targeted treatment of individual acne lesions, sebaceous hyperplasia, and syringoma with high precision.

Mechanism

The insulated microneedle is inserted to a depth of 1-3mm targeting the sebaceous gland. RF energy is emitted only from the exposed (non-insulated) needle tip, generating localized heat that coagulates and permanently destroys the targeted gland. The surrounding epidermis and dermis are protected by the insulation coating. Once destroyed, the sebaceous gland does not regenerate, providing a permanent solution for the treated follicle.

Effects

Permanent destruction of targeted sebaceous glands, long-term acne reduction in treated areas, improvement of recurrent inflammatory acne, sebaceous hyperplasia treatment, and reduced sebum production locally.

Duration

Results are permanent for destroyed glands; 1-3 sessions for comprehensive treatment; 4-week intervals between sessions

Recovery

Swelling, redness, and pinpoint crusting for 3-7 days. Mild tenderness in treated areas. Pustule formation may occur as treated glands heal (expected). Makeup possible after 2-3 days. Full healing in 1-2 weeks.

Side Effects

Temporary swelling, redness, crusting, and pustule formation. Mild scarring risk if aftercare is inadequate. Temporary post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation possible. Not suitable for widespread acne (targeted treatment only).
