Hollywood Spectra

Hollywood SpectraDevice

A Q-switched Nd:YAG laser (1064 nm/532 nm) by Lutronic (Korea), the representative laser toning device for melasma treatment.

Overview

Hollywood Spectra uses 1064 nm and 532 nm Q-switched Nd:YAG. It is used for laser toning (melasma), pigment treatment, and tattoo removal. Spectra Peel mode improves skin texture. It established the standard for low-fluence toning protocols in Korean dermatology.

Mechanism

Q-switched nanosecond pulses shatter melanin via photoacoustic effect. Laser toning uses sub-threshold low fluence at 1064 nm to gradually reduce dermal melanin without epidermal damage. 532 nm targets superficial pigment. Spectra Peel creates carbon-laser interaction for pore cleansing.

Effects

Melasma lightening, removal of freckles and sun spots, tattoo removal, pore reduction (Spectra Peel), skin brightening and tone evening.

Duration

Toning: 10-20 sessions at 1-2 week intervals then monthly maintenance. Pigment: 3-5 sessions. Tattoo: 5-10 sessions at 6-8 week intervals.

Recovery

Toning: virtually no downtime, mild redness for hours. Pigment: redness and micro-crusting 3-7 days. Tattoo removal: frosting, swelling, crusting 7-14 days.

Side Effects

Risk of paradoxical darkening or mottled hypopigmentation with excessive toning sessions. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation possible. Tattoo removal may cause blistering. Strict sun protection required.
