Shrink (HIFU)

Overview

Shrink (Shurink) is a HIFU lifting device developed by Classys (Korea), with Shurink Universe being the latest model. Using the same HIFU principle as Ultherapy, it offers interchangeable cartridges for depths of 1.5mm, 3.0mm, and 4.5mm. Known for faster treatment speed and more affordable pricing than Ultherapy, it has become one of the most popular non-invasive lifting treatments in Korea.

Mechanism

High-intensity focused ultrasound energy is concentrated at precise depths (1.5mm dermis, 3.0mm subcutaneous fat, 4.5mm SMAS layer) to create thermal coagulation points (TCP) at 60-70°C. These TCPs trigger collagen denaturation and subsequent neocollagenesis, resulting in tissue contraction and lifting. The focused energy bypasses the epidermis, minimizing surface damage.

Facial lifting and tightening, wrinkle reduction, V-line jaw contouring, double chin improvement, nasolabial fold reduction, skin elasticity improvement, and overall facial rejuvenation.

Duration

6-12 months (maintenance every 6-12 months; results vary by individual)

Recovery

Mild redness and swelling for a few hours. Some tenderness and tingling may persist for 1-2 weeks. Makeup can be applied immediately. Normal activities can resume right away.

Side Effects

Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, and tingling. Pain during treatment varies by depth and individual sensitivity. Rarely, bruising, numbness, or nerve-related tingling. Burns possible if improperly administered.
