Overview

Sofwave is an FDA-approved lifting device developed by Sofwave Medical (Israel). Using SUPERB™ (Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam) technology, it delivers focused ultrasound energy to the dermis at a depth of 1.5mm. Unlike conventional HIFU that targets the SMAS layer, Sofwave concentrates on dermal collagen remodeling with integrated cooling to protect the epidermis, offering effective lifting with less pain.

Mechanism

The SUPERB™ technology generates cylindrical ultrasound beams that create a uniform thermal zone at 1.5mm depth in the dermis, raising tissue temperature to 60-70°C. This triggers collagen denaturation and subsequent neocollagenesis. The built-in Sofcool™ cooling system protects the epidermis, allowing safe treatment at therapeutic temperatures with minimal discomfort.

Skin tightening and lifting, wrinkle and fine line reduction, improved jawline definition, eyebrow lifting, neck skin tightening, and progressive collagen remodeling over 3-6 months.

Recovery

Minimal downtime. Mild redness and warmth for a few hours. Slight swelling possible for 1-2 days. Makeup can be applied immediately. Normal activities can resume right away.

Side Effects

Mild redness, warmth, and temporary swelling. Rarely, mild bruising or tenderness. Lower pain level compared to conventional HIFU devices. Not suitable for those with active skin infections or metallic implants in the treatment area.
