Overview

Sylfirm X is developed by Viol (Korea) and is the first RF microneedle device to offer both continuous-wave (CW) and pulsed-wave (PW) modes. PW mode selectively targets abnormal blood vessels and basement membrane in melasma without thermal damage to surrounding tissue. CW mode provides conventional microneedle RF for skin tightening, scar, and pore treatment.

Mechanism

PW mode delivers repeated short RF pulses that selectively coagulate abnormal vasculature and damaged basement membrane associated with melasma, without bulk thermal injury. CW mode delivers sustained RF energy for volumetric heating, stimulating collagen remodeling. Non-insulated needles create micro-wounds for additional healing response. Depth adjustable from 0.3 to 2.0 mm.

Effects

Melasma improvement (PW mode), skin tightening and lifting, pore reduction, acne scar improvement, wrinkle reduction, rosacea and redness improvement, and overall skin rejuvenation.

Duration

Melasma: 5-10 sessions at 2-4 week intervals. Skin tightening: 3-5 sessions at 4-6 week intervals. Maintenance every 2-3 months.

Recovery

Mild redness and pinpoint bleeding for 1-2 days. Minor swelling possible. Makeup after 24 hours. Normal activities immediately.

Side Effects

Temporary redness, pinpoint bleeding, mild swelling. Rarely, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or bruising. Lower thermal risk in PW mode compared to conventional RF microneedle devices.
